November 20th 2017 Day 6

PE 8EF ( Block 1) 
- Today the gym was in use so we did some Monday Morning Yoga in my Classroom! It was interesting! Well done girls! Tomorrow are going curling!!

Études Sociales 9F ( Block 2 & 5)
- Today we spent our first block learning about political cartoons from a cartoonist! The second block together was used as a study block for the test Wednesday. 


Social Studies 7G ( Block 3) 
-Today students learnt about the British explorers that discovered and helped map what is now western Canada, people like Anthony Henday, James Cook, Samuel Hearne and George Vancouver. 

Leadership 7 (Block 6 & 7)
- Today in Leadership we worked on a few things. First was a get to know you activity, students were asked to work on this for homework. We then proceeded to write a paragraph on a leader that has impacted our like (most chose their parents!), Students got into groups and discussed the leadership attributes that each leader possessed. We had a good class discussion! Students were then introduced to the Five Common Practices of Exemplary Leadership and we started work on our Poster assignment! We will continue this next class on Thursday! 

Études Sociales 7D (Block 8)
-Today students learnt about the British Colonies in North America, specifically Halifax. Students learnt what it means to be an ``active citizens``. Students also discussed how the life of the Mi'kmaq's was impacted by the creation of this colony. And what their perspective is still to this day!
